BELPHEGOR + VREID 11.10.10

On October 11th the black / death metalheads had an appointment in Barcelona as the Austrians Belphegor came to Barcelona to delight us with their brutal sound accompanied by Vreid, a group that is capable of combining some violins with the guitar riff more brutal never seen.

Vreid is living proof that not all Nordics are cold and distant people, the singer is a clear example of this since minutes before going on stage he was in the audience taking pictures of Emancer and talking to the few fans who were approached. The Norwegians characterized by an impeccable live performance and a very correct staging.

I really wanted to see these magnificent bands live again as after this year's Ragnarök festival I have an excellent taste in my mouth. This time we were unlucky that the room that hosted them was Mephisto and not salamander, I have to say that as usual Mephisto had a horrible sound and that this significantly damaged the impression that those in the room took away from the concert in general. Even so, the bands demonstrated that they can approach a good sound even in Mephisto, I take the opportunity to say that it would be a good moment for the room in question to consider improving in some way its sound problem that persists and persists over time, the volume is totally excessive (I spent two whole days with the beep in my ear) and it does nothing but distort the instruments, in addition, in vreid the singer's guitar stopped playing for a few moments and the voice was not heard well in most situations From the living room. That said, thank Vreid and Belphegor for the optimism with which they took this situation and wish them the best of luck they may have because they really deserve it.

Vreid appeared on stage with the sound of "Alarm", the banners of his work "Milorg" adorned the stage and as has been typical of them with the band's bracelet. At the end of his introductory song, the guitars of “Raped by Light” began to sound, it should be noted that vreid's drummer perfectly followed the pounding rhythms of that song and of course the others that accompanied us on the evening.

As I have said, Vreid decorated the stage with the “Milorg” banners but his set-list was not only made up of songs from his latest work, in my opinion they combined perfectly between old songs that we all wanted to hear and those of his new one. work, which in my opinion are equal to or better than the old ones.

When Vreid finished their live show, after a long wait the Austrians Belphegor appeared, first of all mentioning that technical problems persisted in the headlining concert. Belphegor appeared on stage with bloody faces and their leather pants. They opened with "Bleeding salvation" Later it was the turn of "Seyn Todt In Schwartz" "Stigma diabolicum" in which they demonstrated the cane that they were going to offer us throughout the entire concert.

The singer was more participatory with the public than usual and he talked a lot during the concert. On this evening Belphegor made the walls shake with the double bass drum, the pounding riffs and the guttural voice proved once again that they are a safe bet on stage and that they always deserve to be fully delighted with a live performance by this mythical band.
