Kamelot + Leave's eyes + Adagio
By Xenia
On April 3, Salamandra welcomed three large groups such as: Kamelot, Leave's eyes and Adagio. The pity is that the concert started at 8:30 p.m. and I left work at the same time. It was materially impossible for me to get there in time to see Adagio from the beginning, but I was hoping to see at least his last two songs. Living in a city where public transport sucks that was a more utopian. Not only did I not see a single Adagio song, but I arrived and Leave's eyes had already started.
In this concert the bad mania of arriving when the headliner plays does not reign. I guess it's because the three groups that played were headlining-worthy.
I arrived in Salamandra at 9:15 p.m. and the room was already packed with people. I went as close as I could to the photographers' area and that's where the good stuff began. Having Liv kristine so close impresses anyone.
In this case I have to say that I expected much more from the band. There were times when they seemed totally uncoordinated. A clear example of this was "Elegy", certainly my favorite song, while only the voice sounded all wonderful, it is not for less since Liv Kristine has a beautiful voice, but as soon as all the instruments began to mix ... something was wrong. Even so, the public was crazy 4499569737_dcf233c01b It was really no wonder since despite the failure (in my opinion) of some songs Alexander Krull (Liv Kristine's husband and male singer of the band) was all the time aware of the public and making it call will not go out. I never really came to think that Leave's eyes had so many fans in Barcelona, but it was clear that if they did and of the best, the fans knew the lyrics of the songs to the letter and raised their hands like crazy to play those of the two singers.
They played for about an hour and said goodbye to the city of Barcelona, thanked all the attendees for their presence and mentioned that they would love to return to the peninsula soon.
Kamelot, in what would become another tour of the Ghost Opera, after the bankruptcy of his record company. Even so, they announced that in June we would be able to enjoy their new CD and they presented some song from it in which it seemed to me that the voice lost a bit of prominence and the guitars gained more.
Finally they started to play, I had never seen them and I really wanted to see them since they are a group that despite the fact that now they often come, they are very worth it, attending the event corroborated it, Salamandra was full of expectations and enthusiasm .
The photographers enjoyed only three songs from our privileged position and it was sincerely impressed the musicians during that time posed for us, they were in constant contact with the public and that made the euphoria already existing among the attendees increase as the concert passed.
For the live they had an impressive female singer, with a beautiful timbre and who managed to sound just as good as on the band's CDs.
On the contrary, the singer who lost a couple of times, rather three, his voice. Roy Khan, whom I hoped to see with a tireless voice and an insurmountable power, I saw rather tired and on several occasions he lacked that "I don't know what" that characterizes him. The first time I noticed his "slip" was in "EdenEcho" and later in "A Sailorman's Hymn."
After A Sailorman's Hymn the band played a small Jam session where each and every one of the instruments showed off, it was a detail on their part to let us enjoy their skills as musicians and a detail for Roy Khan to give him a break to drink some water .
After that unexpected jam session the band performed "The Haunting" one of my favorite songs. Elise Ryd (female singer who accompanied them on this occasion) demonstrated her skills with her voice.
I think it's good to emphasize and I think it was clear at the concert that Elise Ryd has nothing to envy Simone Simons. In addition, Elise is much more friendly and attentive to the public. In this magical song the two vocalists showed their complicity.
In short, the concert was pleasant, full of surprises for those who had not seen or read anything about their previous concerts, even so, what they could never have known is that the day Kamelot played in salamander, Barça was debating on the field against Athletic Bilbao and as everyone knows, barça won 4 to 1. The kamelot men wanted to wink at all the Barcelona fans who were in the room, in the middle of “forever”, one of the songs most applauded by the club. In the public, one of the band's "pipes" appeared wearing a barça shirt.
Between this detail and the fact that they took out a cake for Kamelot's drummer due to the fact that it was his birthday, it was clear that Kamelot is a big family for them, including all their fans.
