That thrash is all the rage is no surprise today. Internationally, we see that the new groups signed by record companies are all young boys who love Thrash Old School, executing a mixture of the style of yesteryear with the most current sounds. At the national level we see that in the underground scene we also find quality in this genre: REDIMONI, VIVID REMORSE or STEELGAR are a good example. But despite all this boom, hardly any international groups pass through Spain as they do throughout the rest of Europe. Precisely from there was born the initiative of the thinking heads of the first edition of the Keep It Thrash Fest.
Bunsen (Crusader Metal Bar), Ballbreaker Metal Bar and AGRESSION joined forces (and economic resources) to bring, for the first time in Barcelona, one of the key groups of European Thrash.
For such a special occasion, they filled the poster with three groups with different merits in this world.
They opened the night CRYSYS, whom I could not see. These young boys from Barcelona have eaten half of Europe in the short time they have been in business. Winners of the Wacken Metal Battle Fest, they have already approved the release of their debut album with Wacken Records (record company of the popular German festival), and with only one Demo on the market, their classic-style Thrash Metal moves the masses in all their concerts. . You will have to be attentive to their steps because you will hear much more about them shortly.
The next to come out were NATIONAL SUICIDE. Of Italian origin and formed in 2005, they practice a completely Old School Thrash Metal, what's more, they are so passionate about the sounds of yesteryear that they even have a song against all modern sounds and their followers, called 'Nu Posers Don't Scare Anyone '. Overwhelming on stage and musically, they put the audience in the pocket from the first riff. Songs like 'Let Me See Your Pogo', 'Into The Clubhouse', 'National Suicide', and the one that gives name to their debut album 'The Old Family Is Still Alive', made Mephisto tremble with endless circle-pits and pogos, the security guys couldn't keep up with getting the audience off stage!
AGRESSION's turn has come. Considered one of the revelation groups of last year on the Spanish scene for their first full-length 'Moshpirit', edited by Xtreem Music, they came out on stage determined to wipe out the public. AGRESSION has a huge horde of loyal fans who make noise wherever they are. During almost the hour of performance, the Barcelonans did not stop forming circle-pits and giving their all, both the public and the group with songs like 'Thrashing Your Brain', 'I Hate You', 'Moshpirit', 'Thrash And Kill' and with version of ANNIHILATOR's 'Phantasmagoria' included!

I have to add that I saw them years ago when they played together with REDIMONI and AVULSED on Carretera 13 and they did not convince me, but now, improved in quality and tables on stage, without just being to my liking, they are ready to eat. the world.
And it was time for ONSLAUGHT. First performance in Barcelona since 1983, when they were formed, and you could tell that people wanted them when the room was full to the brim. When the first riffs of 'Killing Peace' began to sound, people went crazy, and no wonder! Although they have been presenting their latest edition, a live album called 'Live Damnation', the good thing about these albums is that you recover those mythical songs from their albums 'Power From Hell' and 'The Force', classics from the mid-eighties. Hence, with 'Let There Be Death', 'Metal Forces' and 'Fight With The Beast' it reached such a climax that, together with the amount of circle-pits and the complicity of the group with the public, their performance was passed flying. The British set-list was spectacular, focusing on their first two works and making all the public there enjoy themselves.
Initiatives such as those of this festival keep the scene alive and that we can meet and see groups that, in general, do not usually add Spain on their tours. It is always interesting to see and support these initiatives, while enjoying a good concert, in this case, of pure Old School Thrash Metal, and putting our grain of sand in the continuation of the commitment of new groups that emerged next to our home and with a lot to say and offer.
On the other hand, congratulate the organization, first in this, for how well they were able to roll the festival and, hopefully, with the great success they achieved, we can once again enjoy another great night under the label of Keep It Thrash.
